On Saturday 27th June, Northumberland Skills and Northumberland County Council will welcome residents from across the region to County Hall, Morpeth for a free event designed to connect people with employers, training providers and career opportunities from a wide range of sectors.
Whether you're finishing your GCSEs, exploring your options after school or college, considering a career change, or looking for a new direction, the Apprenticeship Connect event is the perfect opportunity to discover where an apprenticeship could take you.
Following the success of their first Apprenticeship Connect event earlier this year (February), which welcomed hundreds of visitors, the event returns to help even more people explore apprenticeships, careers and progression pathways available across Northumberland.
Discover opportunities from local employers
Apprenticeships continue to be one of the most effective ways to develop valuable skills, gain industry experience and build a rewarding career.
At Apprenticeship Connect, you'll have the opportunity to speak directly with training providers and learn about current and upcoming apprenticeship vacancies, explore different industries and find out what skills employers are looking for.
Whether you're interested in engineering, construction, welding, childcare, business administration, health and social care or another sector entirely, there will be plenty of opportunities to discover what a future career could look like.
Skills for life
An apprenticeship is about more than gaining a qualification. It provides the opportunity to develop confidence, communication skills, problem-solving abilities and the professional behaviours that employers value most.
Visitors will be able to learn more about how apprenticeships help people gain practical experience while earning and learning, as well as the many routes available into employment and further training.
Support for every learner
We understand that choosing your next step can feel overwhelming, which is why Apprenticeship Connect is designed to be welcoming, informative and accessible for everyone.
A dedicated Quiet Hour from 9:30am to 10:30am will provide a relaxed environment for people with additional needs, alongside their families and carers, to explore opportunities, speak to our team and learn more about Supported Internships, SEND pathways and specialist support available through Northumberland Skills.
The main event will then open to all visitors from 10:30am until 1pm.
